What to pack?

Our travel destinations range from the warm and tropical resort of Cairns in the Queensland Territory located in northeastern Australia down to the much cooler and often windy and rainy area on the southwest side of the south island of New Zealand known as Fiordland. It’s kind of like the difference between Maine and Florida, except the warmer climates will be to the north and the cooler to the south!

In the opening scenes of the movie Titantic, we see Rose arriving at the dock with an entourage of vehicles carrying a multitude of steamer trunks containing everything she needs for her voyage. That is similar to the way I usually travel when we are driving somewhere whether it be for a weekend, one week, or two. Everything goes! Now, I am trying to pack one bag with everything I will need for a month, and trying to stay within the size and weight constraints of the airlines. Not easy!

In less than 48 hours, we will be on our way, so tomorrow final packing decisions need to be made, and my bag will be packed–hopefully, with everything I need. However, if I find I’ve forgotten something crucial, there’s always my motto: “If I forgot it, I’ll buy it!”

(Oh, you may ask if Bob is packed? Oh, he will be–as usual within the hour before we depart for the airport!)
